Book Group

The Newcomers Book Discussion Group meets the first Monday of every month (with the possible exception of December and Holidays.) Women in the book group offer to host a meeting with light refreshments. Our meetings start at 7:30 with some socializing before we sit down to share our views on the book.

Each month, a different member offers to review our book choice of the month. We are a very friendly and welcoming group and no one is forced to review, speak or even to have read the book! Come and see what we are all about! Our yearly book reading schedule is printed each month in our Newcomers newsletter.

Empty Nesters

Empty Nesters is a group for women. We either don't have children or ours have already graduated from high school.

We meet every month to socialize and plan our activities. Some of us get together for book discussions, recipe luncheons, and dinners. We enjoy going to the symphony, museums, art shows, and other interesting places. If there is an interest and people to go, we go!

When you are new to the area and you don't have children at home, it is sometimes harder to meet new people. Our group has been considered a "life saver" to many empty nesters who have moved to the Andovers.

Ladies Night Out is just what it sounds like, an opportunity for the Ladies to get out and about in our local area! We visit local dining establishments, go to the movies, host recipe and ornament swaps, play games, you just never know what we’ll come up with! We have lots of great activities planned for the year and are always looking for fun new ideas.

Wine Tasting

Join us in tasting and learning about wines from all over the world. We meet on five Saturday evenings at members' homes, where appetizers are served to accompany the wine. Each tasting has a theme, and the host selects the wine, consulting with a favorite local wine merchant, Shawsheen Village Liquors.

Because 30 or more people usually attend, it is always a festive evening and a chance to socialize with other Newcomers. Couples and singles are welcome, and you don't have to be a wine expert to participate.

To cover the cost of the wine and appetizers, there is a $16 per person charge for each tasting. Please remember to bring your own wine glass!
